Finding your ring size
Three simple ways to work out your ring size.
1. Measure the circumference of your finger
A piece of string or a narrow strip of paper is all you need:
- Lay the string around the part of the finger where the ring will sit.
- Make sure the string also fits over the knuckle.
- Mark the point where the ends meet.
- Measure the length with a ruler.
The circumference in millimetres is your ring size. If the string measures 56 mm, for example, you need ring size 56.
2. Measure a ring you already own
If you already have a ring that fits well, measure its inner diameter:
- Place the ring on a ruler.
- Measure the distance from one inner edge to the other.
The value in millimetres is the ring size. If the inner diameter is 17 mm, for example, choose ring size 17.
3. Use a ring size guide
For an especially easy result you can use our ring size table or template. Compare a ring you own with the given sizes, or check directly on your finger which size fits best.
Tips for an accurate measurement
When should you measure?
Finger size can change over the course of a day. In the morning fingers are often slightly slimmer than in the evening, and temperature plays a part too. Our tip: measure your finger several times at different times of day and use the average.
Which finger should you measure?
The fingers of one hand can differ in circumference. So always measure exactly the finger you intend to wear the ring on.
Which ring size should you choose?
Wider or bolder rings often sit a little more snugly than delicate designs. In such cases it can make sense to go one size up.
